Happy New Year

I have to ring in the New Year with some sugar cookies! These will be the final sugar cookies I make for 2011. This past year I made just a bit over 1800 sugar cookies!!!! I was busy, wasn't I? I like the designs I made, but not the colors. If you can believe it, I was going for copper and gold. This is what you get with the icing colors. I was really disappointed in these. It's on my list now to make these colors actually look like copper and gold! But for this year we will go with this! Nothing says New Year's like party hats and balloon....be sure to gather yours for the evening! As the clock nears midnight, don't forget to grab your loved one...or your cookie! I loved the building design idea I found on flickr from Lomfise. But since I used different colors than they did, I'm wondering if anyone will recognize it as a building with fireworks? What do you think? May your New Year start of perfectly!!Happy New Year to All! Here's to more baking fun in 2012! Jen

Final Christmas Cookies

Merry Christmas Eve!!!

I wanted to share my FINAL assortment of Christmas cookies with you to put you more in the spirit today! I did a big order and made more designs than this, but these are the ones I haven't posted yet.

The snowman on the far right was inspired by Nanny's Sugar cookie blog.

I think Sweet Sugar Belle was the one that originally inspired these Santa belts.

A twist on the traditional Christmas tree. I found these cute ones on Etsy.

Thanks to Nanny's Sugar Cookie blog again for these mittens.
No two snowflakes are alike.....
Seems like no 2 snowmen are alike either!

Happy Baking.
My New Years Eve cookies were done today! Those to come later.
Merry Christmas.

More Christmas Fun!

Christmas is just around the corner and I've been busy making some holiday cookies! Here's what I've been up to lately.

These cookies are Cherry Cordial Roll-Out cookies from SugarBelle. A nice chocolate flavor with a hint of cherry. Yum!

Here's
another outside of the box idea - using an upside down ice cream cone cookie cutter, I made these cute little elves. I found the idea on this blog. Nancy's Sugar Cookies made these cute little snowmen. They just say "winter" and "fun" to me! Christmas candy anyone? Just like presents under the tree. Assemble your own Snowman! How cute when The Decorated Cookie put this up on her blog here. We are going to do a snowman craft on Christmas so I'll pull this out to eat then too! All these are individual snowman pieces that I made separately. I liked how it turned out except for the snowman's eyes. Eeek! Not the right size at all. Oh well. Here are all the moving parts! When I saw these personalized trees at Glorious Treats , I knew I had to make them for a few special people in my life! Always looking for some different things to make, I saw these cute little snowmen on Facebook by A+ Kake Sweets. Using a snowflake cookie cutter, you know have 6 little snowmen! I'm on my last set of Christmas cookies this week. Then it's on to decorating my New Year's Eve cookies!
Happy Baking.

Christmas Pops

Trevor holiday party is this week! A school singing program followed by a party with lots of treats and fun things to do. Nothing could be more fun! I made these lollipop cookies so the kids could take them home as a party favor.

I found the star and heart cookie cutter ideas from Mel's Cakewalk Blog here.

Cookie Crazie also has used the star cookie cutter for the holidays! I loved her idea for these snowmen.

Thanks again to Cookie Crazie for this idea.
I hope you can tell these are penguins!
Using Sweetopia's cute snowman, I changed her design up a bit from what I saw on her website.
Happy Baking!

Bring on the cookies!!!

Pat and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary this weekend! We weren't going to exchange gifts because we are going on a cruise in January...but I got a huge surprise....a new Kitchen Aide Mix Master - the Professional 600 series. Industrial strength! It can hold 14 cups of flour!!

I had been looking at it for awhile, but my mix master still works. It is just a 300 series. The only thing is that the paint has been chipping off one of the blades recently.

Okay, not so great if that happens in the food, right?

When I mentioned that to Pat he decided to run out that night and get it for me. He said it was going to be a Christmas gift but didn't want me to buy another blade for the old one.

What a nice surprise!!
A beauty, right?

Bring on the cookies!!!
Happy Baking,

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Every where you go!!!

It has been here for a few weeks but I haven't had the time to blog anything lately! The holiday season sure is fun but it's busy with not enough time for me to do everything I want to do!!

The red mitten design idea came from here. No two snowflakes are alike, right? I'm sure my aren't!
Frosty the snow man!
Snowman faces
Here's my whole assortment. These are going to a school for a fundraiser. I hope the kids like them and buy lots to support their school!

Happy Baking!

Mini Christmas Cookies

I love giving my cookies to friends and family. This year I decided to make mini cookies and bag them up to go inside a Christmas mug to give to some friends. Here are my mini cookie creations! Of course the designs have to be a bit simpler when you have a smaller cookie. But that doesn't mean it takes any less time!

Simple snowflake design inspired by Bowl of Oranges. I love this color for winter.
My own freehand drawing of an ornament. I got some fancy sprinkles this year!
Looks to me like a red and white spiral candy!
Hope you can tell this is a wreath. My wreath cutter was too big for my mugs so I just used a circle. I don't have a bow on it so not sure you would recognize it. But still red and green is pretty for Christmas!
I found this on Flickr from Cake&Cookies sight. Very clever I thought. I don't even know what you call this but I know it's Christmas. Is it a cake, a cookie? I'm sure you guys have all seen this before. I had a candle like it. If you know what it is, let me know!
Flickr is a good source for finding fun pictures of cookies for me. Cookie Jan had this idea for me.
My winter scene doesn't look exactly like Cookie Joes does on the Flickr website but I don't think it turned out too bad. He used a darker blue which probably would have been better.
Do you see Santa's belt here? A clever idea, but the white sprinkles didn't do any good for the design when I decided to add those. They are bigger sprinkles and "muddied" it up a bit. Oh well, live and learn, right? I have to thank SweetSugarbelle for this idea though.
I had to do some more circle Santas again for these gifts. Thanks to the idea from Cookie Crumbs!
A spot of red, green and white!
Some more snowflakes with sprinkles on them.
These mini snowmen were fun to make. Requiring a steady hand though since they are so small!
You can't give Christmas cookies out without having a Christmas tree, can you?

And here is the whole assortment of what is going in my Christmas mugs. Everyone that receives one of these has to know that my gift came from the heart. The mugs all ready to go!

I went back to look for the exact website for the cookies I found on Flickr and what I had saved was not enough to find it again. I'm new to all this with the crediting work and didn't copy enough to find it. Darn it! Well, at least I've told you they are my original ideas!!! I will work on that for next time.

HAPPY BAKING.
