Thankgiving Assortment

A lot to be Thankful at this time of year....my family, my friends, my health, my job...my list could go on and on. I've enjoyed making some different designs for Thanksgiving this year. I've seen so many creative ideas that I just don't want to stop!! Here are some of my latest creations.

Using a tulip cookie cutter, SweetBella Bakery inspired me on these very cool cookies. Amanda has several ideas that I liked this year and found them here.

Can't be Thanksgiving without a pilgrim hat, right? I don't have the perfect cutter but I think this does okay!
Cornucopia's are always fun for this time of year.
Another inspiration from Sweet Bella Bakery. The freehand trees were something different. I haven't done much freehand on cookies. That certainly takes practice.
You've got to have some trees to remind of us fall this time of the year!

I had to try just ONE more owl cookie when Sugarbelle made some with a candy corn cookie cutter. I thought her Owl in Pumpkin Cookies were just precious. This blog does an awesome job with the tutorials and showing you step by step how to make cookies just like the ones she does. The Sweet Adventures of Sugarbelle is an amazing blog.

Some more acorns! We have a ton of them falling in our backyard. What about you?
Oh my and what is Thanksgiving without Pumpkin pie??? Another idea from Sweet Bella Bakery.

A fall assortment of apples, pears and pumpkins. The pumpkins were some of my favorite that I made this year. This design came from Bake at 350.

Just a few more sets of leaves....

As you can see I've been busy with Thanksgiving cookies! I do have the last few up my sleeve to finish this weekend!
Happy Baking.

Halloween is HERE

Halloween Season is here....and I don't have enough time to do all the things I want to do! It can not end. I simply LOVE this holiday. I think it might be my favorite :) I've been busy this week making cookies for Trevor's class party on Monday. Here is the selection I made!!!

My Frankenstein was inspired by Cookie Crumbs on Facebook. It seems a lot of the blogs and sites I look at decided to use the square and round cookie cutter for so many things. So I HAD to try it as well!

Something must be brewing for my witches hats!
More from one of my favorites - Sugarbelle. The more traditional Frankenstein.
Not Halloween I know...but I had some extra dough and had seen this a few weeks ago. I had to make some. I loved how Cookies with Character brought a little sunshine in with a daisy cookie cutter. I will be making more of these in the future!
Using a new cookie cutter I purchased recently I made a witches boot!
I have to thank Munchkin Munchies for inspiring these Spider Cookies.
They are made with a candy shaped cookie cutter with a triangle attached as a hat. Simply adorable!

Trevor didn't want me to make scary cookies so when I saw these ghosts from Catch My Party's blog I thought they were perfect!
An assortment of pumpkins. I haven't quite found the pumpkin face I really like though. I wasn't too happy with any of these.
Ohh....a spooky cat face. But not too spooky! Meow!
Everyone loves candy corn, right?
My new tombstone cookie cutter.
I hope the kids enjoy the Halloween cookies! They are going to have a fun day on Monday at their party. And I really liked making them!
I have a few more tricks up my sleeve for Halloween yet that I have to finish! I've been up a few hours already working on them!

HAPPY BAKING

Fall Assortment

HAPPY FALL!

I got in my fall cookies this weekend! Nothing too fancy but fun for me to make!

I always have fun with the leaves I make using all the colors and swirling them together.

Here are my acorns.

And a ghost for extra measure!

HAPPY BAKING!
I'm moving on to Halloween and can't wait to work on those!!!

Owls in Pumpkins and Spider Webs

Yeah, JEN'S GOT HER GROOVE BACK!!!

I'm back in the kitchen and feeling much better. I was BUSY today.

I woke up early this AM and started thinking about some round cookies that I had all ready to go in my freezer....I was dying to frost them and make something pretty out of them! I had a few things in my mind that I had recently copied so I jumped out of bed and went to work!! And got them all done today.

The Owl in Pumpkin cookie was inspired by Sugarbelle. I used a slightly different shape than she did but think they turned out pretty good.

There is quite a bit of detail in the eyes....Using about 3 layers of wet frosting to create those.....

The rest of the cookies I decorated today were inspired by The Baking Sheet. Once again a slightly different shape than she used but I think the round shape worked too!

And I"m already starting something else for fun!!! Getting right back into the baking which is so nice to be able to do! I had to have a picture of myself rolling cookies - there rarely is any proof that I"m actually the one that does anything!

Happy Baking,
Jen
