Thankgiving Assortment

A lot to be Thankful at this time of year....my family, my friends, my health, my job...my list could go on and on. I've enjoyed making some different designs for Thanksgiving this year. I've seen so many creative ideas that I just don't want to stop!! Here are some of my latest creations.

Using a tulip cookie cutter, SweetBella Bakery inspired me on these very cool cookies. Amanda has several ideas that I liked this year and found them here.

Can't be Thanksgiving without a pilgrim hat, right? I don't have the perfect cutter but I think this does okay!
Cornucopia's are always fun for this time of year.
Another inspiration from Sweet Bella Bakery. The freehand trees were something different. I haven't done much freehand on cookies. That certainly takes practice.
You've got to have some trees to remind of us fall this time of the year!

I had to try just ONE more owl cookie when Sugarbelle made some with a candy corn cookie cutter. I thought her Owl in Pumpkin Cookies were just precious. This blog does an awesome job with the tutorials and showing you step by step how to make cookies just like the ones she does. The Sweet Adventures of Sugarbelle is an amazing blog.

Some more acorns! We have a ton of them falling in our backyard. What about you?
Oh my and what is Thanksgiving without Pumpkin pie??? Another idea from Sweet Bella Bakery.

A fall assortment of apples, pears and pumpkins. The pumpkins were some of my favorite that I made this year. This design came from Bake at 350.

Just a few more sets of leaves....

As you can see I've been busy with Thanksgiving cookies! I do have the last few up my sleeve to finish this weekend!
Happy Baking.

Turkeys, Turkeys, Everywhere

I have been doing lots of Thanksgiving cookies! Just haven't shown anyone yet! I've seen so many cute ideas lately that I've had to try so many...I couldn't hold out anymore and NOT share them, so here are my turkey's so far...I've done several different styles!! Which one do you like best?I did a lot with the same colors only using different shapes. Loved Cookie Crazie's idea here. Using half of a daisy cookie cutter.... A 3-D turkey cookie from Bee in our Bonnet website here. Using a circle cookie cutter and then heart cutters for the feathers. Another Cookie Crazie idea.....here...I tried using the black outline and then the colored outline. I think I like the black because they stand out more. Traditional turkeys made the the actual turkey cookie cutter. My freehand drawing idea compliments of The Decorated Cookie, found here. This turned out much better than I thought it would! And using Bake at 35o's idea...2 different cookie cutter with the tutorial here. So now you can see I've had so many ideas come across my path for turkeys that I just want to try them all!! HAPPY BAKING

Halloween Fun

I had to make more Halloween cookies this weekend. I just had the itch! And had so many cool things that I had recently seen! So, here are the LAST Halloween creations for this season.

I was more happy with these pumpkins than the ones I made earlier. I like the faces much better.

These Leggy Little Witches are from Sweet Adventures of Sugarbelle. Another outside the box creation - using an upside down T-shirt cookie cutter.
I also saw this monster on Sugarbelle's website. This year it seems that lots of the blogs I follow have been using a round or square cookie cutter to make many designs. I really wanted to try a few of them.
I know I saw this idea/design on a website/blog....I can't give credit to them right now because it looks like I forgot to write down where I got it....but I copied it and someone out there has a great idea!
A use of the square cookie cutter I found on Karen's Cookie Blog. I think she used the circle but I did the same thing with the square.

Another idea from Karen's Cookie blog.
With the red this ghost just seems extra Spooky to me!
These fun Spiders came from Sweetopia.

Another idea I saw on Karen's Cookie Blog. What's better than giant pumpkin? I liked using the big circle cookie cutter to make these.

Cookie Crumbs on Facebook is my inspiration for this.
I think the Purple People Eater is a bit Halloweenish, don't you? Bake at 350 gave me this idea. And becuse it involved piecing some cutters together I had to try it. Using a circle cookie cutter for the body, wings from a bird cutter, and a tiny triangle. I think it came together very nicely!

Candy Corn anyone?

Here's the whole lot of them! As you can see I had fun with these. And had fun giving them to friends and family! Now it's time to do some Trick-or-Treating.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Happy Baking.

Thank you teachers!

The end of the school year is here for Trevor. Wow....did that go by fast or what? He has loved being in Pre-K with a wonderful teacher, Mrs. Binder. And now, drum roll please....we are going to be off to Kindergarten in the fall. I can't believe it, can you? To thank the teachers in Trevor's classroom I of course decided to make some cookies. They have 5 different teachers that all have 12 kids in their group. While Trevor only has one teacher, those other teachers have certainly spent time with him this year and gotten to know him to. So I couldn't forget them.

Strawberries to thank the teachers BERRY
much for all they have done for us this year.
I'm glad I have my new cookie tips that are small so that I could make the details on my little worms on the apples! Tedious let me tell you! I got the idea for the little worm from Sweet Celebrate. My happy face apples. This idea came from one of the first blogs I even looked at Bake at 350. She is wonderful and has so many neat ideas and beautiful cookies too. My inspiration from this was my favorite baker friend, Amalia Standard. She is FABULOUS and the best decorator I know. (not to mention wonderful at everything she does - mom, friend, wife, etc). She has a great blog that you should check out. Cookie Construction. Everything she does is amazing. She recently made the cookies below and I had to try them because I thought the idea was so neat. These bees are made out of a circle and a heart cookie cutter put together. Pretty clever, right? I made a few different sizes and had fun making something outside the box! Amalia was inspired by another blog for these...Flour and Sugar Thoughts.

Have to thank our teaches a BZZZZZillion times for all the thing they do for us during the year. Teachers are so very important in this world and Trevor really had some wonderful ones!
These flower pot cookies were an idea I got from The Sweet Adventures of Sugarbelle. She had another great idea. See the Frosty cookie cutter? Well, turn it upside down and it becomes a flower in a pot! How neat is that? It requires some free hand decorating which I definitely need more practice at, but these were fun to make.
I added some tiny ladybugs to the pots for fun too. Here's the whole assortment of cookies for the teachers.
Here's Trevor carrying the baskets that I put the cookies in. He was so happy to help deliver these! I found the cute little baskets at the dollar store and thought they were neat....that place has some of the best things if you ever stop in there! Thanks teachers! You've brought Trevor a long way - he can write his name, knows his alphabets, numbers, colors....that's my boy!!! And here's to a fun summer session at Brookridge Day School for him. HAPPY BAKING.
