Halloween Fun

I had to make more Halloween cookies this weekend. I just had the itch! And had so many cool things that I had recently seen! So, here are the LAST Halloween creations for this season.

I was more happy with these pumpkins than the ones I made earlier. I like the faces much better.

These Leggy Little Witches are from Sweet Adventures of Sugarbelle. Another outside the box creation - using an upside down T-shirt cookie cutter.
I also saw this monster on Sugarbelle's website. This year it seems that lots of the blogs I follow have been using a round or square cookie cutter to make many designs. I really wanted to try a few of them.
I know I saw this idea/design on a website/blog....I can't give credit to them right now because it looks like I forgot to write down where I got it....but I copied it and someone out there has a great idea!
A use of the square cookie cutter I found on Karen's Cookie Blog. I think she used the circle but I did the same thing with the square.

Another idea from Karen's Cookie blog.
With the red this ghost just seems extra Spooky to me!
These fun Spiders came from Sweetopia.

Another idea I saw on Karen's Cookie Blog. What's better than giant pumpkin? I liked using the big circle cookie cutter to make these.

Cookie Crumbs on Facebook is my inspiration for this.
I think the Purple People Eater is a bit Halloweenish, don't you? Bake at 350 gave me this idea. And becuse it involved piecing some cutters together I had to try it. Using a circle cookie cutter for the body, wings from a bird cutter, and a tiny triangle. I think it came together very nicely!

Candy Corn anyone?

Here's the whole lot of them! As you can see I had fun with these. And had fun giving them to friends and family! Now it's time to do some Trick-or-Treating.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Happy Baking.

Halloween Spooky Eye Pretzel Bark

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

With so many fun things I came across this season I had a hard time deciding what to make! I sent cookies for the kids to eat in Trevor's class. But I wanted to send them all home with a little something.

When I found the Spooky Eyes Pretzel Bark on Cookies and Cups website I thought it would be perfect and very simple! I was right about perfect, but WRONG about simple. LOL.

Very few ingredients which seemed simple. You take pretzels and lay them out on a cookie sheet.

Then you combine butter and brown sugar and bring to boil for 2 minutes.

This is where I went wrong.

And the reason why I had to go for try #2 with this recipe. I didn't boil long enough....and the sugar didn't dissolve leaving it sticky when it was all said and done. I thought that might have been the problem, but wrote Shelly about her recipe. She said the 2 minutes should start AFTER the sugar was dissolved. OH....me not being the best baker didn't think about this when I was making it...that information would have been helpful. But I'm not quite sure how to tell when the sugar was dissolved in the first place.

If anyone wants to write me and let me know - I'd love that information! I didn't want to boil it too long for fear it might burn and get too sticky to pour out.

Once you have this step all perfected (on my 2nd try I did okay!), you pour this over the pretzels and bake for 10 min.
Then melt white chocolate and pour over that. And do the same with a layer of milk chocolate. I doubled the milk chocolate to have enough to spread over.

Then you can garnish with pretty much anything you want!!! For the Halloween effect I liked what Cookies and Cups did for the Spooky eyes - using oreos. Here is the "Bark" before it's all in pieces. I have to say breaking the bark was not easy....It would be ideal for every piece to have an oreo with eyes...but I didn't exactly know how to make that happen. Any ideas there?

Here's a side view of the bark.

Hope the kids like this creation...turned out to be more of something I wanted to tackle since I didn't get it right the first time. I was even prepared to have to try for attempt 3. Luckily I didn't have to!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN.
And HAPPY BAKING.

Halloween is HERE

Halloween Season is here....and I don't have enough time to do all the things I want to do! It can not end. I simply LOVE this holiday. I think it might be my favorite :) I've been busy this week making cookies for Trevor's class party on Monday. Here is the selection I made!!!

My Frankenstein was inspired by Cookie Crumbs on Facebook. It seems a lot of the blogs and sites I look at decided to use the square and round cookie cutter for so many things. So I HAD to try it as well!

Something must be brewing for my witches hats!
More from one of my favorites - Sugarbelle. The more traditional Frankenstein.
Not Halloween I know...but I had some extra dough and had seen this a few weeks ago. I had to make some. I loved how Cookies with Character brought a little sunshine in with a daisy cookie cutter. I will be making more of these in the future!
Using a new cookie cutter I purchased recently I made a witches boot!
I have to thank Munchkin Munchies for inspiring these Spider Cookies.
They are made with a candy shaped cookie cutter with a triangle attached as a hat. Simply adorable!

Trevor didn't want me to make scary cookies so when I saw these ghosts from Catch My Party's blog I thought they were perfect!
An assortment of pumpkins. I haven't quite found the pumpkin face I really like though. I wasn't too happy with any of these.
Ohh....a spooky cat face. But not too spooky! Meow!
Everyone loves candy corn, right?
My new tombstone cookie cutter.
I hope the kids enjoy the Halloween cookies! They are going to have a fun day on Monday at their party. And I really liked making them!
I have a few more tricks up my sleeve for Halloween yet that I have to finish! I've been up a few hours already working on them!

HAPPY BAKING
